Favorite Face and Body Products

Just like my post on shower products, making the switch to veganism means living animal free with every product you use, not just what you eat. Animal by products and animal testing are far more prevalent in your makeup, and body products than any of us want to know about.  Thankfully, more states and countries are working on banning animal testing for beauty products and moving towards using vegan ingredients. Until they are all vegan everywhere and animal testing is banned for all products, it is the consumers job to know what’s in their products. For me, I can’t use products knowing that suffering of any kind was caused in the making of the item.

Getting the vegan label can be difficult to get on a product, and almost always means they are animal testing free. Below are some of my favorite vegan beauty products I use. Let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of these and what your favorite bath and body items are.

Brushes:

  •   Eco Tools- They make 100% vegan makeup and hair brushes. They use bamboo handles and recycled aluminum where needed. I currently have two of their hair brushes and love them.

Facewash:

  • True Botanicals- These are a splurge, but totally worth it if you have the means. They have several products based off a skin type test you take to start. I ended up buying the RENEW Hydrating Cleaner and the RENEW Nutrient Mist. The smell of lavender, citrus, and tea is such a calming experience every time I use the cleaner. My skin always feels so clean and smooth after the shower. When I get out of the shower, or if I need a pick me up, I will spritz the nutrient mist to hydrate my skin and will instantly feel better. Not only are the products great, but they are dedicated to having top of the line, all-natural beauty products. They are the first beauty line to be completely MADE SAFE certified. They use a team of scientists to break down all the products to insure they are the best they can be, without toxic chemicals in them. They are also entirely vegan, Non-GMO, gluten free, and cruelty free.

  •   Follain- This a great company that screens beauty products through their five-step approval process, making sure you are getting the cleanest versions of your favorite items. I bought their Clean Essentials Kit using a promo code from one of Ellen Fisher’s YouTube videos. It included samples of OSEA Ocean cleaner, Indie Lee COQ-10 Toner, Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream, and Follain’s refillable soap in their water resistant, reusable pouch. I’ll be buying the OSEA Ocean cleaner again for sure, it’s great.

  • Trader Joe’s- Since the brands above are a little pricy, I don’t use them every day. For my everyday face wash, I go between the Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil and their Nourish Microdermabrasion Scrub. Both leave my face feeling clean without drying it out which I appreciate.

  •   Pacifica- Rose Kombucha Flower Powered Face wash is another great priced, quality product. It smells great, lathers well and leaves you feeling clean.

Moisturizers and Serums:

  • Trader Joes- The Nourish Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum and the Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer are both TJ’s versions of high-end products that normally sell for over $60 each. They both work amazing and are a fraction of the cost and last me months. I also use their Supreme Hydrating Eye Cream to tie my face care routine all together. I also love their Rose Water Facial Toner throughout the day when I need a pick me up and I want to feel refreshed. They sell a Watermelon Facial Toner in the summer that is also amazing, especially when it’s cold when you spray it. I like to keep them in the fridge for hot days to give me a quick dewy look in a moments notice.

Lotions:

  •   Hempz Yuzu and Starfruit Body Moisturizer- They have a whole line of great vegan lotions, but I love the smell of this one. My mom put a sample in my Christmas stocking a couple of years ago, and I loved it so much I bought a large one and the matching Chapstick.

  •   Trader Joe’s- All their lotions are great, but I always have their Midsummer Night’s Cream Hand and Body Cream in my house and the Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream in my purse.
